Sorbian Monuments – Now Available
Trudla Malinkowa is a well-known Sorbian researcher and author, who writes about the history of the smallest Slavic nation, the Sorbs, widely known as Wends, whose historic homeland is within the borders of modern-day Germany. Numerous books and articles in anthologies and journals testify to her broad research spectrum. Her book Shores of Hopes (1995) is considered a standard work on the history of Sorbian emigration overseas in the 19th century. It has been published in several editions in Sorbian, German and English.
As a result of many years of research, she now offers a guide to the memorial sites of the Sorbian people in Europe, America, and Australia, already published in Sorbian (2019) and German (2022). The English edition, Sorbian Monuments, has been expanded to include additional memorial sites in Texas & Australia.
Trudla Malinkowa, born in 1955, lives in Bautzen, Germany. She is the recipient of the highest Sorbian awards, the Domowina Prize (1996), the Cisinksi Prize (2021), and was given honorary membership in the Sorbian Cultural and Scientific Society, Macica Serbska (2023).
