In and Around the Museum

Last July, we were honored to receive a request from exhibition curators with the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin who expressed an interest in creating a display to showcase the story of the Texas Wends in their Cultural Crossroads case. Exhibition experts from the Bullock Museum visited our museum later that month to learn more about our story, view our displays, and take photos. What followed for them was developing a plan for the display and a list of items in our collection that would be loaned to the Bullock Museum to be used in that display – included will be the Kasper family pine trunk that is normally on display in the Peter Building.

The display will be part of the Bullock Museum’s continuing series of displays telling the story about the different ethnic groups that settled in Texas and the unique heritage and customs each group brought with them. It will be on view from October 19 of this year to April 25, 2016.
