Volunteer Corner

We are happy to welcome two new volunteers who have joined our forces here at the museum – Linda Tate and Cynthia Gersch. Both these ladies are of Wendish heritage with close ties to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Linda (Kappler) Tate is a resident of Serbin and is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Linda is volunteering to assist with museum office operations. She has mastered data entry and management of our membership program process which will provide an important service to our Society, Museum and members. Linda will also assist with activities as needed including preparation of our newsletter, etc. Linda also oversees new member sign up and renewals during Wendish Fest. Thank you – Linda – you are welcomed and greatly appreciated!

Cynthia Gersch is spending time in Serbin with her father, Herman Gersch, and will be retiring later this year. Cynthia is an avid gardener who loves to spend time taking care of Mother Nature’s beauty and we are thrilled that she has volunteered to be our museum gardener. She is working diligently to enhance the flowers and eliminate weeds, which certainly is an ongoing job. Once fully retired, Cynthia plans to move to Serbin and will fill our museum gardener position. Cynthia – you are most welcome and appreciated!

Volunteers are the backbone of our operations and are the reason for the continued success of the Texas Wendish Heritage Society and Museum. Each and every volunteer is important and we say THANK YOU!

If you have an interest in volunteering, we will be happy to share the opportunities offered to help find just the right fit for your interests and time. Contact us at the museum.
