28th Annual Wendish Fest on September 25
Each year the Texas Wendish Heritage Society host a festival on the fourth Sunday in September. This years event will be on September 25. Events are scheduled throughout the day beginning with the church services at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Featured entertainment this year will be the The Brazos Polka Kapala (Band)!

The Brazos Polka Kapala (Band)
The ensemble will play a variety of music and styles with unique instrumentation, offering an eclectic mix of familiar melodies, fiddle music, ragtime, jazzy tunes, and of course a healthy collection of polkas (featuring many traditional Wendish polkas).
Kapała members are professional musicians from around the Brazos Valley area who are teachers, performers, and members of the Brazos Valley Symphony, The Theatre Company, and College Station String Quartet.

“Wend” is a term used by the Germanic population in reference to the Sorbs in their homeland.
